Warm Winter's Day Festival coming

COFFS Harbour is again set to heat up, with the announcement the annual A Warm Winter’s Day Festival is returning.

After the sell-out success of last year’s event, organiser Jeff Moss of Till Late Productions (who also organises the hugely popular Open Arms Festival) has high hopes this could be one of the best festivals Coffs Harbour has seen.

“We were turning people away at the gate last year so this year we’re boosting the numbers and hopefully we can sell out again,” Mr Moss said.

“We want to make sure everyone has a great time.”

And with the stellar line-up, that’s highly probable.

Australia’s hottest live act at the moment, Miami Horror, is heading the line-up. According to Mr Moss, the guys are ready to blow Coffs Harbour away with their Moon Theory show.

“Miami Horror is great, they’ve got a new album out and are touring at the moment and receiving lots of airplay,” he said.

Illy, born and bred from Melbourne’s tough musical utopia, is billed as the next big thing in Australian hip hop and can’t wait to show his stuff at Coffs Harbour.

Old favourites, Ministry of Sound boys, The Ashton Shuffle, are also coming to town.

“Illy is also an awesome up-and-coming hip hop artist that is just amazing and the Ashton Shuffle are always a hit,” Mr Moss said.

“The rest of the bands are all local, which I think is hugely important.

“People want to see local bands mixing it with the best and it’s always good for the bands to have the opportunity to play in a production of this size.”

He said that being a local himself, he had a passion to bring great music to the region and give Coffs Harbour the reputation it deserved as an entertainment hub.

“I really think there’s room for both (Open Arms and A Warm Winters Day) festivals, they’re both well supported,” he said.

“I don’t see why Coffs Harbour can’t have some of the biggest acts in the country playing here – it’s a great venue.”

A Warm Winters Day will hit the Coffs Harbour Showgrounds on June 13 from noon.

Tickets are available now at www.awarmwintersday.com.au as well as Park Beach Music, Coopers Surf in the Palms Centre and Sunpatch Surf in Sawtell.
