It really is a loo to Di for

WOOLGOOLGA’S Di Stephens was pleasantly surprised when she used one of the state-of-the-art public toilets at Armidale last week.

“I walked over and not only are there push buttons to open them, but the buttons are also in Braille,” Mrs Stephens said.

“I went to the toilet and it was playing piped music and the toilet roll dispenser is also automatic.

“The toilet flushes itself and it also has a loiter alarm.”

Mrs Stephens said perhaps most importantly, the toilet was spotless.

“It was so clean. It was immaculate. It was better than a shopping centre toilet to tell you the truth.

“It was just like a stainless steel garden shed.”

Mrs Stephens said after surgery last year she needed to use public toilets in Coffs Harbour but was bitterly disappointed at what she found.

“They were atrocious. The public toilets in Coffs Harbour are putrid,” she said. “There is no reason why Coffs Harbour can’t have what Armidale has, considering they were funded by stimulus money.
