Isaac misses out on The Voice tour after elimination
COOROY singer Isaac McGovern's dream run on The Voice has come to an end.
The 20-year-old was eliminated last night after facing off against rock singer Frank Lakoudis in the singing show's live quarterfinals.
McGovern's upbeat rendition of Sheppard's hit song Geronimo couldn't stand up against the heat of Lakoudis's rendition of Queen's rock anthem We Are the Champions.
The viewing public had one minute to vote for the two singers, with Lakoudis earning 72 percent of the votes.
"This has just been so amazing," McGovern said.
"Thank you Joel for everything man."
The young singer was gracious during his exit, also thanking the show's backstage crew.
"Everything that goes on behind us is just incredible," he said.
"They make it so easy for us to get here. Thank you to all of you guys for supporting us all."
McGovern's elimination follows his emotional performance last week in tribute to his late aunt.
The eight singers who made the cut for the semifinals will tour the capital cities after the show's grand final at the end of this month.
