Stalking someone? There's an app for that

STALKING someone? There's an app for that.

An alleged stalker used an iPhone and an app to track the movements of his victim, police said.

The Gladstone woman was allegedly stalked from March 1 to June 4 by someone who used a magnet to attach an iPhone to the underside of her car.

The phone's movement was then traced using the iPhone's find-my-phone app.

A Gladstone man, 40, has been charged with one count of stalking after being arrested on Tuesday. He was released on bail.

Detective Senior Sergeant Luke Peachey said the alleged behaviour was of concern. "It's very concerning as the man has made a concerted effort to stalk his victim," Det Snr Sgt Peachey said.

The man is due to appear again in Gladstone Magistrates Court on June 24.
