Innovators step up to challenge

COFFS Harbour Innovation Centre congratulates the organisers and sponsors for an inspiring regional event held in Coffs Harbour recently – the Telstra Business Centre Coffs Harbour Digital Innovation Challenge.

Those who attended were enthused by the number of smart and committed technology entrepreneurs Coffs Coast has in this region.

The Coffs Harbour Innovation Centre is very proud that our tenants, SASO Design’s Nanette Backhouse and Sam Chapman jointly took out the grand prize with Leanne Taylor for their business platform Match My Ride that connects people who want to buy a car with dealers.

“With the tech development team already based at the Coffs Harbour Innovation Centre, the MatchMyRide platform is live and we have dealers locked in. Thanks to this amazing prize package we will now be able to expand our market reach and grow the business,” Ms Taylor said.

Six Degrees at the Innovation Centre is looking forward to welcoming Jodie Curtis and Vrindy Benson who won the highly commended award for their COLLAB.

The App connects entrepreneurs and creatives around the world to enable them to grow their business or their portfolio.

These enthusiastic entrepreneurs believe that their six months’ prize of desk space in the co-working space will help them establish their business and networks.

One of the established centre co-workers, Mark Henderson from Henderson Technology, impressed the judges with his BeDad app and the two out of town judges, Brendan Yell from IBM Softlayer and Simone Eyles from 365 Cups praised Mark’s passion and offered ongoing mentoring.

Digital Innovation Challenge participants have all been part of the supportive business development environment provided by 6 Degrees Coworking Hub in the CBD and also at the Innovation Centre.

6 Degrees offers people with ideas at all stages of development the opportunity to pitch their passion on a monthly basis to a panel of experts, develop their business and use the space for motivation and networking with like-minded entrepreneurs and freelancers, and ETC business advisors provide on-going formal business support.
