THE North Coast Innovation Festival, in partnership with leading software developer, and festival sponsor, Janison, is offering a unique opportunity to access a wealth of innovation information, tools, and tips through the North Coast Innovation Academy.
The Innovation Academy is a site that was developed by Janison for leading consulting firm Deloitte. Parts of the site have been generously made available through the NCIF website until June 30.
NCIF co-chairman Doug Jones said “The Innovation Academy site has some very useful information including articles from leading innovators as well as tools, tips and information on innovation. Best of all it is absolutely free.”
If you’re not quite sure about innovation, the site explains what innovation is, the types of innovation, reasons to innovate, tools on setting yourself up to innovate, and the innovation process.
The NC Innovation Academy includes an interactive ‘ideas zone’ where anyone can add new ideas, comment or add to those ideas already there. The ideas zone has a voting system so you can vote for the best ideas.
“We are looking for innovative ideas and ways to improve the festival, for ways to help businesses to become more innovative, to work smarter and to promote the NSW North Coast as Australia’s most innovative and prosperous region,” Doug said.
He adds: “We encourage you to use the ideas zone and not to keep your best thoughts or original ideas trapped inside.”
Other features of the site are articles, insights and trends from authors including Pete Williams, CEO, Deloitte Digital; Dr Amantha Imber, Founder of Inventium, an international creativity and innovation company; Roger De Salle, Creator of the Matrix Thinking Technique which is now used in over 25 countries, and there are many other contributors to the Innovation Academy site.
Jacquie Houlden, Director of Janison said: “There are some simple and effective tools and tips on creativity, trends and problem solving that anyone can use in their business or everyday lives such as challenging yourself will help you to innovate and tools to solve problems in a more powerful way.”
