Kayakers safe and well

THREE kayakers returned to shore unharmed after sparking an emergency on Friday.

The trio - two women and a man - left Woolgoolga Beach at 8.30am to paddle around the headland to watch whales.

One of the women became fatigued and when the man came to her aid, his kayak became tangled in a buoy rope, tipping him into the water.

His kayak was blown away and the pair stayed together to wait for help to arrive.

Water police, surf lifesavers and the Woolgoolga Volunteer Sea Rescue were called in to help the stricken kayakers.
