Golf Day raises money for charity
MORE than $1400 was raised in aid of Dragons Abreast at the Jade Hair Design Golf Day.
The Coffs Harbour Golf Club was in tremendous condition with shopping trolleys and other odd targets placed strategically around the golf course where a lucky golfer could win a prize from one of the many generous sponsors who made the day possible.
More than 100 ladies looking resplendent in pink reported to the pro shop for the teams event which was played under a best three of four stableford scores format.
Jade Hair Design’s John and Maria Senes have been the catalyst behind this worthwhile event for some years now and they were thrilled with the turnout for the day and excited by the amount of funds raised for the worthwhile cause.
The winning team on the day was the foursome of Cath Bailey, Sue Mealey, Linda Bradley and Julie Pike who returned a score of 137 points.
The individual winner was Tracy Foster with 43 points.
Foster won on a countback from Sue Mealey and Athene Brentnall.
Popular long-time lady member Enid Colquhoun returned a great score of 42 points and collected her trophy to the chants of ‘Enid, Enid, Enid’, at the presentation.
An enormous showing of respect and affection for a golfer who has been a playing member for an incredible 48 years.
