Spa equals sum of all parts

IN SUMMING up Azur Spa (36 Moonee St) the word holistic springs to mind.

It's a place where each section plays its part and losing any feature of the yoga studio, day spa and cafe would be like an arm without a hand or a hand without fingers.

The collective sum of well-being, beauty, fresh food and great coffee is proving an innovative and successful business model.

Around three years ago the company was founded under the name Yoga Sense but this was changed to Azur Spa last year to better reflect the full spectrum of services offered by the business as it expanded.

The centre's manager Courtney Smith said growth from August 2010 to August 2011 was up 65%.

"The centre has evolved with community demand and the aim is to provide a complete package to customers," Ms Smith said.

"It's all about looking after our mind and body so people can come in for a healthy meal, meditation or day spa treatments."

While some customers come in purely for coffee, others for their regular yoga session and others again for spa and beauty therapies many will enjoy a combination of elements in one of the centre's package deals.

"We offer a range of deals where for example people can come in and enjoy a treatment and then have lunch.

"The centre all flows into one so you could book a hen's day and have pedicures as well as enjoying bubbles and nibbles."

Ms Smith said the crew at Azur Spa can tailor packages to suit client needs and they pride themselves on 'customer service and professionalism'.

The vibrant team of five full time staff and three contract yoga instructors have a huge amount of experience, with a minimum of ten years each in their respective industries and 25 years for the yoga teachers.

Ms Smith said the owners wanted to take a little oasis and put it together with a holistic approach toward wellness and beauty.

"The Little Green Bean Cafe is a great drawing in point and then customers can look around and see what else we have to offer.

"We couldn't survive without each element and each process is well-thought out.

"It has been a sensational year as the centre has evolved and the dynamic between staff makes for an amazing environment."

Keep your eyes out for special packages. Every season there are new packages, every month there are new promotions, gift vouchers can be couriered and booking can be made online and confirmed via sms.
