Impressive art to be showcased on public toilet walls

EXPECT to see a pleasant surprise when you next go to the public bathrooms in Murgon's main street.

Thanks to some talented young kids and some of the region's best artists, the Murgon bathrooms have been provided a bright facelift.

Both the male and female toilets on Murgon's Haly St have been rejuvenated with colourful array of indigenous artworks and designs all thanks to a children's holiday program.

The large scale artwork combines paint brushes and spray cans to bring together another impressive South Burnett art piece.

One of the project's coordinators, indigenous artist, Kane Brunjes said the council run project was a great opportunity for the kids to express their artistic passion.

"Everyone is here to express themselves," he said.

While mentoring the young artists, he said the message was to remind them that good art is all in the eye of the beholder.

"There is no better or worse here," Mr Brunjes said.

"If you are an artist and you appreciate your work, that's what it is all about.

"I guess it is just another form of expression."

The proud aboriginal artist specialises in indigenous pieces.

"In my art I like to influence the dot and line work," Mr Brunjes said.

"I aim for a balance in my work.

"I like to work with a bit of chaos and then I feel like the dot and line work brings it all back to together."

Mr Brunjes has big aspirations with his own artwork.

"I would like to take my work international, maybe go to New York," he said.
