Important issues and inspiration

ORARA High School recently hosted the 2016 NSW Tour of Honour.

The tour, organised by the National Australia Day Council and the Australian Day Council of NSW, showcased 2016 NSW Australian of the Year recipients, Dr Catherine Keenan, Ms Elizabeth Broderick AO and Ms Melissa Abu-Gazaleh.

These women spoke to staff, students and guests detailing their passion for literature, gender equality and young men’s health in Australia.

“The speakers brought up some important issues such as young men’s mental health,” said student representative Monique Luchetti.

“I was especially inspired by the message, ‘you don’t have to be extraordinary to make change, you just have to care’.”
