Imagine Jon headlining carols

ROCK legend Jon English promises to make for some cracker Christmas carols as the headline act for tonight's Coffs Harbour carols event.

The veteran rock star returned home to the Coffs Coast recently after wrapping up his last big tour for the year.

When asked to join in the festivities at this year's carols, Jon couldn't pass down the opportunity.

"It's a good type of fun community-type thing - there'll rides for the kids," Jon said.

"It's good to see Coffs getting together."

Jon hinted at the inclusion of a classic Beatles hit and a rock twist on a few carols, but kept mum on the details.

"I've got a bit of a rock twist religious song. I won't tell you what it is, but it's very close to my heart."

The carols songbook can be found in today's edition of the Advocate on pages 39-42.
