Country surf lifesavers ready for championships

THE best surf lifesavers in Country NSW are about to tear Lighthouse Beach at Port Macquarie up.

A large contingent of North Coast's finest are ready to compete over the next three days at the 2009 Stramit NSW Country Championships to stake their claim for a place at the State championships to be held next month in Swansea/Belmont.

Clubs such as Woolgoolga, Sawtell and Coffs Harbour have a proud history of success at this event and they're hoping that the increased participation numbers being enjoyed in 2008-09 will turn into more medals at Tacking Point.
