Illegal firearms located in Urunga

A MAN is due to appear in court next month after he was charged with allegedly possessing illegal firearms at Urunga.

About 1.30pm on Wednesday, police executed a search warrant at a Pacific Hwy property.

As a result of the search, police will allege they located a .22 pellet gun, a .22 calibre revolver and ammunition, which were all unsecured.

A 32-year-old man was charged with two counts of possessing an unregistered firearm, as well as possessing an unauthorised firearm, possessing an unauthorised pistol, possess ammunition without holding a permit and a further two charges of not keeping a firearm safe.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Coffs Harbour Court on January 18.
