Ice pipe possession blamed on 'stress' of murder charge

AN ANDERGROVE woman accused of murder has pleaded guilty to unrelated possession of an ice pipe.

Peta Louise Ansford, 41, is accused of stabbing her partner Luke Mitchell, 39, to death in the Mackay suburb on May 7, 2017, and has not entered a plea.

The utensil offence occurred on May 29 and duty lawyer Peter Clark linked it to stress Ansford struggled with in relation to the murder allegation.

Ansford was ordered to complete drug education and was fined $450 in Mackay Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
