ICE hockey is set to return to the Coffs Coast this long weekend, with the Big Banana Fun Park ice rink hosting the seventh annual 3-on-3 Ice Skirmish.
The competition is fierce and provides exciting entertaining hockey.
3-on-3 Ice Hockey is a fast, fun and continuous brand of the game played with small teams of six plus a goalie, with the players alternating on the ice, 3 at a time.
"It's four days of ice hockey at its best - fast, fit and fun,” Big Banana General Manager Michael Lockman said.
"The annual competition started as a two-club match between Newcastle North Stars and Southern Stars from Brisbane.
"Coffs Harbour and The Big Banana was chosen to host the event as the halfway meeting point for the 3-on-3 ice hockey weekend,” he said.
The tournament now includes seven clubs represented by 23 teams from NSW, QLD and ACT.
Some 150 players from five to 15-years-old will play in four different age divisions from Friday to Monday with 75 games to roll onto the ice.
The seven clubs represented this year are: Southern Stars (Brisbane), Newcastle North Stars
Canberra Phoenix, Norwest Emperors (Sydney), Liverpool Saints, Gold Coast Grizzlys and Brisbane Buccaneers.
