Lucky Hussler out of Group One Stradbroke Handicap

LUCKY Hussler is the latest galloper to be ruled out of the Group One Stradbroke Handicap (1350m) at Doomben on June 6 after being galloped on in his recent seventh placing in the Goodwood Handicap (1200m) at Morphettville.

Trainer Darren Weir said he had decided to spell the horse (pictured) after a discussion with connections.

The five-year-old had resumed with a win in the Group One William Reid Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley, before a tough run in the All Aged Stakes, prior to the Goodwood.

Lucky Hussler will now be spelled before being aimed at the Melbourne Spring Carnival.

He is the latest in a growing list of runners set to bypass Queensland's richest race.

Goodwood winner Flamberge has also been ruled out, as has Hucklebuck, Trust In A Gust and Our Boy Malachi which bled in Saturday's Doomben 10,000.
