1600 Toowoomba residents affected by power outage

Update, 4.24pm: While the power outage in Glenvale has been resolved, more than 500 residents in the Harristown area are still without power, with fault finding still in progress. 

There is also a secondary outage affecting the Top Camp, Cambooya and Hodgson Vale area which is affecting more than 600 people. No cause has yet been outlined. 

Earlier, 11am: MORE than 1600 residents are without power in Harristown and Glenvale as Ergon works to identify the issue. 

The unplanned outage was first reported at 10.55am, the reason cited as "damage requiring emergency repair".

Households in Glenvale, Cranley, Wellcamp, Harristown, Newtown, South Toowoomba and Kulpi have been affected.

An estimated fix time hasn't been established and a post to the Ergon website said fault finding is still in progress.
