How much tax-payer money John McVeigh spends

FROM April to June, 2019, Groom MP John McVeigh spent $128,760.33 on printing and communications expenses.

Combined, it was his largest expense according to data released by the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority yesterday.

His second largest expense, $35,658.98, was spent running his office, during the three-month reporting period.

This money covered office equipment and security, electricity, cleaning cost, repairs, telephone and internet, and rent.

Dr McVeigh claimed no overseas travel, on five scheduled $2,310 domestic flights and $1,292.45 on chartered flights and travel. 

He claimed a further $1144.83 in travel costs for his family.

Dr McVeigh spent $4,814.63 on staff wages.

Travel costs often make up MPs largest expenses and Dr McVeigh's claims were dwarfed by his parliamentary colleagues.

Prime Minster Scott Morrison spent $76,998.63 on international travel and $15,579 on domestic travel between April and June.

Maranoa MP David Littlerproud, who represents one of the largest electorates, spent $23,528 on domestic travel.
