Home Show boosts Coffs' economy

THE Coffs Coast Home Show continues to be a hit with locals and a big boost to our economy.

This major showcase, now in its fifth year, was staged at the Coffs Harbour Racing Club on the weekend and drew about 3500 people, slightly down on last year’s due to persistent showers.

More than 80 exhibitors ranging from home builders to solar insulation firms, floor coverers and lawn care specialists strutted their stuff in a massive one-stop shop for all the latest products and services pertaining to the home.

Caterers and cafes also proved a hit.

“Crowd numbers were down a bit on Saturday but they rebounded fabulously today (Sunday),” said one of the organisers, Peter Grimmond.

“The home show generates million of dollars worth of stimulus into the local economy and is a major part of the annual marketing campaign for all of these local companies.

“The quality of the exhibitors continues to grow each year. The level of professionalism of the displays is definitely increasing.”

“You have to impress the people who have come to see what you have to offer them and I think that message is getting out there.

“The crowds are loving it.”
