Coffs to become netball central
TWO BIG weeks for local netball clubs begin today with the visit of the Australian men's team to Coffs Harbour.
The Sonix are paying what has become an annual visit and take on the Coffs women's representative team at Vost Park courts from 2.30pm today.
Even better, NSW Swifts and Australia Diamonds star, Susan Pratley will conduct clinics in Coffs Harbour and Woolgoolga on July 28-29.
Over the past decade, Susan has become a missionary for her sport and has inspired more than 9000 junior players through her clinics.
"My vision is to see as many young netballers in the country as I can and teach them the skills required," she said.
"I encourage them to have fun while exercising and hopefully inspire and motivate them to train hard and follow their dreams."
Susan will conduct a session in Coffs Harbour on Monday, July 28, and visit Woolgoolga the following day.
Woolgoolga president Sandra Thorpe described the impending visit as "fabulous".
"Following Susan's awesome first visit last season it was great to have her contact us wishing to return," Sandra said.
"Prats is a fantastic player and a wonderful ambassador and role model for all young netballers, so we are very excited."
The NSW Swifts were unluckily knocked out by one goal in the recent ANZ Championship semi-finals but Susan's brilliant performances were rewarded by being named in the Trans Tasman 2014 ANZ All-Stars team at goal attack.
