He’s the ham man who can

RUSSELL'S Prime Quality Meats has won the right to ham it up, coming away with 10 awards from eight categories at the Sydney Royal Fine Food Competition.

"We are very proud of our achievements," said owner Russell Greenwood.

"To receive both gold and silver medals for both our traditional ham and our honey cured leg ham, and a gold medal for our cooked corned silverside is an honour.

"Along with three silver medals and a bronze medal for our sausages, it shows our consistency following our amazing success in 2013. This is such an incredible achievement."

The Sydney Royal Deli Meat Competition was established in 1995 to judge a variety of smallgoods products. There are 64 classes within the competition, ranging from ham, bacon, salami and prosciutto to general smallgoods, cooked products, poultry products, gourmet products and sausage classes. The competition receives more than 700 entries.

Other Russell's products to win medals were: roast beef with herbs and spices; salt and pepper lamb rack; traditional smokehouse rolled bacon; traditional Australian pork sausage; Irish pork and Guinness; Sicilian/Italian pork sausage; fresh gluten free Spanish chorizo.
