THE hero manager of The Wheatsheaf pub was refused a hotel for the night after the attack because she insisted on not abandoning her puppy.

Magdalena Antolak was forbidden from returning to the pub after the three terrorists were shot dead outside.

The fanatics had tried to enter the packed boozer to continue their murder spree but were foiled by brave staff led by Ms Antolak barricading the doors with beer kegs.

A friend told how the pub licensee - hailed a hero for leading her team and saving the lives of dozens of punters - refused to abandon her puppy after police sealed the premises as a crime scene.

Before Ms Antolak fled, she scooped up her pet dog and without any money on her was forced to approach nearby hotels.

A friend told The Sun: "Magda had to endure so much on the night of the attacks.

"She was not allowed to stay at the pub for obvious reasons, but was refused a room at local hotels because she refused to abandon her puppy.

"This was despite explaining to the hotel reception staff  her desperate situation.

"It was disgraceful of the local hotel staff.

"Magda was a hero."

Ms Antolak posted a photo of her leaning out of the Wheatsheaf's upstairs window when she took over the reins in May.

After the attack she said online: "Terrible event took place at my beautiful pub Wheatsheaf last night. My heart is with my brave team and all people involved.

"I would like to thank all my friends and work colleagues for their amazing support and well wishes."
