Help spread some Christmas joy

GRAHAM House Community Centre has partnered with Target and Uniting Care to bring joy to families doing it tough this Christmas.

Co-ordinator Iris Ferguson said gifts and hampers would be given to vulnerable families within the South Burnett community a few days before Christmas.

"This year we have at least 75 families in need of help,” Ms Ferguson said.

"All families in Australia deserve to experience the joy and excitement of Christmas.

"The festive hampers are not just for the homeless, but also for families continually struggling to pay bills or (who are) sick.”

South Burnett residents can help out those in need by heading to the Murgon Target and placing a gift under the Christmas tree, like Deputy Mayor Kathy Duff did on Tuesday, or by buying a bauble tag for $1.

There are also donation boxes at the Murgon council building, Soul Pattinson Chemist and at the Graham House Community Centre.
