Help Christian gain back independence

LIKE every other six-year- old, Christian Sheridan-Bridges wants to get outdoors and play this summer.

However, his wheelchair restricts him from going to the beach and participating in other outdoor activities.

Christian, who has cerebral palsy, is getting too heavy - and adventurous - for his mother and grandmother to carry him to the beach and look after him.

Christian is sometimes put in a pram on school excursions because his wheelchair cannot navigate outdoor terrain.

The combination of summer approaching and funding options exhausted, Christian's grandmother Julie Sheridan launched a Gofundme page to raise funds for an all terrain wheelchair to enable Christian to play independently outdoors.

Halfway to achieving their Gofundme goal, Christian's mum Jess Sheridan said the chair would the ultimate Christmas gift.

"It would mean so much to us as a family to be able to join him into our activities on a daily basis, being able to just live more of a normal life, the things that every other family do," she said.

To help Christian and his family, donate via the online page.
