Can you help a little battler?

A YOUNG couple from Boambee East is living any parent's worst nightmare.

James and Naomi Cook had their world shattered when their 19-month-old daughter Emelia was recently diagnosed with a brain tumour.

She was airlifted from Coffs Harbour to Randwick Children's Hospital where she is recovering after specialist brain surgery while her parents stay at Ronald McDonald House.

Family and friends have rallied to help, but the everyday reality of living out of a suitcase and not being able to have their four-year-old son Nicholas with them in Sydney is weighing heavily on the couple.

Emelia's grandparents Stephen and Denise Hudacek said the pair's employers, Dan Murphy's and the Coffs Harbour City Council, had been great support to James and Naomi, but as they were unable to work the bills were beginning to mount up.

Mr Hudacek says it may be some time before Emelia comes home, and is asking anyone who can offer any assistance to the young family, financial or otherwise, to contact him on 0424 375 215.
