Helfgott's talent to benefit sick kid
TWO-year-old Alec Brinklow was recently diagnosed with leukaemia. Treatment requires the family to relocate to Sydney and with his father unable to work due to injury, the financial burden is onerous. David Helfgott and other musicians are offering their talents to help the family cope.
An irresistible feast of music, including a performance of Rhapsody in Blue for two pianos with Helen Bowie joining David Helfgott, will be held on Sunday, March 8.
Other performers will include Suzanne Sherrington on clarinet, Claudia Douglas, cello, Esther Henderson, violin, plus the Bellingen Youth Orchestra and Surco Group. The event will be held at Bellingen High School, starting at 2.30pm.
Tickets are $25, including afternoon tea, and are available from L.J.Hooker, Coffs Harbour and Stepping Stone Travel, Bellingen.
