Heat make change for Stars showdown

CRICKET: The Brisbane Heat have made one change to their 13-man squad for Tuesday night's Big Bash League clash with the Melbourne Stars at the MCG, with Sam Heazlett coming in for Jason Floros.

Heazlett, who played in the club's opening two games of the BBL T20 season, will add batting depth to the Heat line-up that struggled against the Adelaide Strikers on New Year's Eve.

The Heat are looking to rebound after going down to the Strikers by 56 runs.

The MCG match shapes as a crucial one for both sides, with the Stars yet to win from their opening two games, while the Heat currently sit fifth.

A terrific all-round display from Michael Neser was the difference for the Strikers at Adelaide Oval.

Neser followed his career-best unbeaten 40 with 2-7 with the ball, including the key scalp of Heat skipper Brendon McCullum, as the Strikers comfortably defended their 7-147 to catapult to top spot on the BBL table.

The Heat were bowled out for just 91 in 16.2 overs after their top order was blown away, the visitors' stunning 4-7 collapse in the space of 14 deliveries leaving them reeling at 4-15.

The batting collapse wasn't without controversy though, with teenage leggie Rashid Khan contentiously dismissing Heat master blaster Chris Lynn, caught behind for a three-ball duck.

The laid-back Lynn looked noticeably annoyed as the umpire raised his finger, with television replays suggesting no contact was made with the ball by his bat, which scraped the ground.
