Healthy Harold's work is praised

COFFS Harbour MP Andrew Fraser has praised the work undertaken by the Coffs Harbour Life Education Support Group.

The group celebrated its 30th birthday at the Pet Porpoise Pool this week and Mr Fraser was full of praise for the work carried out.

“I would like congratulate all those involved in the program on the wonderful work they do in raising children's' awareness of the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Life Education receives $1.6 million in funding, however this is not enough to cover costs as there have been no CPI increase until this year,” Mr Fraser added.

“There is still a need for students to contribute to the scheme, which in my opinion is money well spent by parents,” Mr Fraser said. “The program promotes healthy lifestyles and has an anti drug and anti alcohol message for our children. Many children are aware of the mascot, 'Healthy Harold'.

“The program still needs the support of local businesses in order that they can continue to deliver this excellent service to our school children.

“I would encourage local businesses and individuals in Coffs Harbour to assist wherever they can,” Mr Fraser concluded.
