Coffs health in the fast lane

VISITORS to Coffs Harbour Health Campus can not miss the busy construction site at the front of the hospital.

Temporary fencing and blue sheeting protects visitors to the grounds as tradesmen work on the new Express Community Care Clinic, which is designed to streamline the processing of patients with acute but non-urgent medical problems.

North Coast Area Health Service chief executive officer Chris Crawford has assured people that despite the proximity to the emergency department, there will be no disruption of services.

“In the long run, it will be of great assistance to the emergency department,” Mr Crawford said.

Even with a delay in the tender process, the new clinic will be ready for patients soon.

“We are aiming to finish by the end of June.”
