Health staff farewell popular GM

COFFS Harbour Health Campus staff will farewell general manager Margaret Bennett at a function at the Coffs Harbour Golf Club from 5pm on April 22.

This is also Mrs Bennett’s final day at work after six years at the helm of the health campus and more recently the larger Coffs Clarence network of the North Coast Area Health Service.

She has accepted a position as general manager of the North East Area Health Service in Victoria, based at Wangaratta.

“It has been a wonderful six and a bit years – you know I’ve loved it,” Mrs Bennett said

“But it is a wonderful personal and professional opportunity.”

Mrs Bennett, who spent 22 years working in Western Australia before moving north east, said after 28 years away she would be very happy to be within reach of all of her large family, including her elderly mother.

Mrs Bennett said her mother was ‘beside herself’ at the thought of having her eldest daughter close by once more after 28 years.

The director of clinical services, Dr Theresa Beswick, will be the acting general manager of the Coffs Harbour Health Campus and the Coffs Clarence Network until a new permanent GM is appointed.
