INCUMBENT Federal Member for Cowper, Luke Hartsuyker officially launched his election campaign today in the electorate’s newest regional city.

Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce joined Mr Hartsuyker in Port Macquarie for the launch, accompanied by State Nationals MP Leslie Williams and Nationals party volunteers and supporters.

The occasion also marked the opening of Mr Hartsuyker’s campaign office in Gordon Street, Port Macquarie.

Mr Hartsuyker said he has been familiarising himself with new townships in Cowper after the re-drawing of the electoral boundaries earlier this year.

"I’ve spent the months since the new boundaries were confirmed listening to residents and business owners in Port Macquarie, Crescent Head and other areas new to the electorate," Mr Hartsuyker said.

"The Port Macquarie-Hastings area has been ably represented by my Nationals colleague Dr David Gillespie and I hope to continue his legacy in advocating for Port Macquarie in Canberra."

Mr Hartsuyker’s campaign office will be open from 10am to 4pm with volunteers available to provide assistance.
