Hartsuyker burns rubber for charity

THE wheels on the bike began to go round and round at 9am today as Luke Hartsuyke MP set off on his annual charity ride to Port Macquarie.

The Member for Cowper began from the Park Beach Plaza branch of bcu with 175 km of hard pedalling along the Pacific Motorway ahead of him with and a couple of welcome pit stops along the way.

He is due to arrive in the Hastings at bcu's Gordon Street branch some time on Wednesday.

"The ride would not be possible without the generous principal sponsor bcu,” he said.

"It's also great to be able to add Special Olympics Mid North Coast to the list of beneficiaries this year.

"Money raised will be donated to the Mid North Coast and Hastings-Port Macquarie branches of the Disabled Surfers Association and Macleay Vocational College.

"All these community organisations do fantastic work and are more than deserving of the proceeds.”

Mr Hartsuyker praised the ride's sponsors.

"I am pleased bcu agreed again to support us as they have been the principal sponsor for each charity bike ride and deliver vital support to many local organisations.

"Other sponsors include Telstra, Nestle, McDonalds, Faircloth and Reynolds, HLV Chartered Accountants and Kennards Hire.”

Donations welcome online at http://bit.ly/2ExvzuO or any bcu branch.
