Hard worker made life member of club

JAN Murray has been awarded life membership of Red Rock-Corindi Women's Bowling Club.

Murray became a registered bowler on January 1, 1974 and has been a member of the club for 40 years.

She played as a social member, fitting bowls in between work and taking care of her mother.

On the passing of her mother and retirement from work Murray became more involved.

She has held a position on the committee for the past 10 years: president in 2004-05, secretary 2006-07 and started her current long stint as secretary in 2009.

Working closely alongside Jan, I see the amount of work and time that goes into being a club secretary. With a memory of all procedures and protocols related to NSW, district and club levels sometimes I sit in awe as she works through forms and commitments.

I think this honour could not go to a more deserving person.
