Hard road ahead for Axemen
ORARA Valley is facing its most important week of the season.
The Axemen sit inside the top five but by the end of next weekend it could be a different situation.
Tomorrow Orara Valley hosts Grafton before it meets Sawtell on Tuesday night and Woolgoolga next weekend.
Win all three and the Axemen can be considered a genuine premiership threat. To be a serious finals contender Orara Valley must win at least two of the upcoming fixtures. Win one or less and the green and golds will be locked in a battle for the rest of the season to simply qualify for a semi final berth.
Orara is facing a confident Ghosts outfit tomorrow, riding on the wave of a five game winning streak, which will make it hard for the Coramba team to get its week off to a winning start.
Nambucca Heads is also turning heads after winning its past four matches.
That good form will face a stern test this weekend when it faces the undefeated South Grafton in enemy territory while Woolgoolga travels to Macksville for a potentially problematic encounter.
Coffs Harbour is a warm favourite to overcome Bellinger Valley-Dorrigo in a Saturday game at Geoff King Motors Park.
The Magpies are yet to win a game this season but oddly, that situation could spell danger for Coffs Harbour.
If Bellingen is having an ordinary season, traditionally the clash against the Comets is its grand final so the home team should expect a fired up cellar dweller.
