Hankies an unusual work of art

HANKIES probably aren’t the first things to come to mind when thinking about art, however, a new exhibition at the Grafton Regional Gallery might make you think twice.

The Hankie Project, organised by curator Julie Barratt of Barratt Galleries, invited artists and individuals to create works on a handkerchief based on the themes of death, grief and bereavement.

As part of the exhibition, Ms Barrett conducted a talk at the gallery on Saturday where she discussed some of the works, her inspiration behind the exhibition and then fielded a number of questions from those present.
