Greenest building in Coffs Harbour

Coffs’ Gateway House
Coffs’ Gateway House

THE multi award-winning Gateway House, owned and managed by The Bachrach Group, has just received another accolade as the greenest building on the Coffs Coast.

Following the initial twelve month review of the green house rating, a recent inspection of the building – housing Centrelink’s call centre – resulted in a five-star rating.

The outcome which exceeds Centrelink requirements and illustrates the consideration of energy issues at the design stage has been very effective.

The building was designed specifically to deliver 5000 square metres of contemporary commercial floor space to meet the healthy workplace requirements of the major tenant.

The Bachrach Group of Companies General Manager, Steve Gooley said “The Gateway House development has set a new benchmark for commercial buildings on the Mid North Coast.”

“It has been designed by local Coffs Harbour Architect, Vil Brickman, to comply with the Australian Building Greenhouse Rating with 5 star level or better.”

The development was constructed by local building company FM Glenn.

To date, Gateway House has received several awards including:

2009 MBA Regional Building Awards – Best Commercial Project over $5m

2009 MBA Regional Building Awards – Best sustainable energy project

2009 Sunny Awards
