Green support 'is on the increase'

SUPPORT for Greens candidates is set to increase as the Coffs community endorses their realistic approach to development in the area, Greens mayoral candidate Mark Graham believes.

“A good Green Coffs Council is a great bulwark against the bulldozers, the white shoe-developer brigade and the bad, ugly development in our community,” Mr Graham said.

“The Greens support sustainable development that meets the environmental and heritage standards expected by our community.”

“New developments should be sympathetic to the existing character of Coffs and add to rather than detract from what makes this area a great place to live.

“I believe that our current planning process often favours developers over community needs because permitting developer donations to political parties corrupts our entire planning system.”

“I would like to see an end to the private certification of buildings so that the profit motive is removed.”
