Good result for injured man in search for family after crash
A LONG lost family member has come forward after a man was critically injured in a severe crash at the Stanley and Bolsover St intersection.
Robert Crawford sustained life threatening head and chest injuries in the June 19 accident and is still recovery in hospital.
Friend Dylan Krauss put a call out on social media searching for his next of kin after police drew a blank.
Many people came forward who used to work with Mr Crawford but biological family connections were murky.
A Facebook post on Saturday read that Mr Crawford had woken up and was speaking slowly but still had bad head, hip and chest injuries.
It is understood a sister has now come forward from New South Wales.
"We have had a sister come forward from NSW and I had Robert thank me near in tears for finding someone as he thought he was the last of the family name so thanks to absolutely everyone that has shared this post and if there is any other family out there that would be amazing,” Mr Krauss said.
"As for Robert he is improving well, speaking and is starting therapy to walk and time will tell if he will have a fully recovery. I thank everyone for their best wishes and have shown him what you have done to not only help me but help him with such success. So thanks heaps everyone.”
