Good behaviour bond for assault

AN unexplained pub assault at a Coffs Harbour Hotel has seen a local woman ordered to serve a good behaviour bond.

Security vision inside the Coffs Harbour Hotel showed Kellee Jo Hodge, 26, tap another woman on the shoulder and punch her in the face for no apparent reason the court heard.

The assault happened on March 20 at 1.12am.

The victim had been on the dance floor with friends when she was attacked.

After the punch, she suffered bruising, swelling and discomfort to her left cheek and eye.

Police were informed and arrested Hodge with assault occasioning actual bodily harm the following day.

In court, she publicly apologised to the young woman.

“In the past few weeks, I've had time to reflect on the events of that night... I have seen the footage of the incident and I am repulsed by my actions, they were completely out of character . . . I'm sorry.”

Found guilty she was placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond.
