Adam Scott looking to add name to US Open roll

WORLD No.1 Adam Scott became the first Australian player to pull on the fabled green jacket when he won the Masters at Augusta in 2012 - now he is looking to become the third Aussie to claim the US Open.

Scott, who showed he was in good form by winning the Crowne Plaza Invitational last month, will lead an 11-strong Australian contingent when the Open starts at the Pinehurst No.2 layout in North Carolina tonight.

David Graham was the first Australian to win the Open when he saluted in 1981, and Geoff Ogilvy made it number two when he won at Winged Foot in 2006 with a five-over par score, helped by a final hole meltdown by American Phil Mickelson.

Scott will play alongside Masters champions Bubba Watson and Charl Schwartzel in the opening round.
