Golfers swing into action

GOLFERS had to dodge rain showers but yesterday's Elly Stig Memorial Golf Day and auction at Nambucca Heads Island Golf Club still went off like clockwork.

Organiser Ray Stig said last night that the number of players that participated were still being counted.

“We had 220 entries and if they all played, that would have been a record roll-up,” he said.

The local football fraternity were out in force including representatives from the Brisbane, Newcastle, Penrith and Parramatta NRL clubs.

A full wrap-up of the golf and auctions will appear in the Coffs Coast Advocate later this week.
