Gold Coast Highway to see closures today

POLICE wish to advise that all northbound lanes of the Gold Coast Highway between Clifford Street and Remembrance Drive, Surfers Paradise, will be closed for several hours as a result of a large building fire.

Just before 2.15am police and emergency services were called to a vacant building on the Gold Coast Highway after reports of a fire.

The building has been destroyed and due to concerns surrounding the buildings integrity, all northbound lanes of the Gold Coast Highway will be closed for several hours.

Police are urging motorists to avoid the area and seek alternative routes of travel.

Police and emergency services remain at the scene as investigations into the cause of the blaze continue.
