Go green at the Botanica Green Living Festival

ALL things green and sustainable will be on display or for sale at the Botanica Green Living Festival at the Botanic Garden this Sunday.

There will be market stalls selling a variety of native plants, bonsai, orchids, vegetable seedlings and rainforest plants.

Crafts will also be on show and for sale throughout the day, plus renewable energy technologies and ecologically-friendly home products for both the home and garden.

Demonstrations and talks will be a feature of the festival.

These will include learning about self-sufficiency in the home; raising chooks in your backyard; no-dig gardens; organic vegetable growing; water conservation; permaculture; carbon-trading; local food solutions; waste water management; and how to make great compost.

In addition, there will be loads of children's activities - including getting up close, but not too close – with snakes and lizards.

For the less brave, face-painting and arts and crafts fun sessions will be on offer.

Throughout the day there will be live music entertainment plus Bush Tucker Tours, Guided Garden Tours, People-Mover Tours and much more. Visitors are invited to bring their own picnic or enjoy the barbecue or Devonshire teas from 11am to 3pm.

The Festival begins at 10am and goes on until 4pm. The North Coast Regional Botanic Garden is in Hardacre Street, Coffs Harbour, off Harbour Drive behind the TAFE College.
