Girl guides get set to go

GIRL guides are getting under way for 2011.

Coffs Harbour Girl Guides held their annual information and registration day on Saturday but there is still plenty of time to join, with the pre-junior guides (five to seven years); junior guides (seven to 10) and guides (10 to 15) holding their first meetings for the year this week and next.

Pre-juniors meet from 4pm to 5.30pm on Thursdays; juniors 4pm to 6pm on Thursdays and guides 5.30pm to 7.30pm Tuesdays.

Guide leader Toni Nyssen said pre-juniors and juniors would begin this Thursday and the guides on February 8.

Guides get involved in a range of activities from craft to camping and community service and this year Ms Nyssen said there would be a big regional camp at Scotts Head in July.
