Getting Fit with Chocolate: Exercising without realising
BEING organised is a necessity when trying to find the balance between work, exercise, personal life and sleep.
This weekend I am heading to the big smoke of Brisbane to spend a much-needed girls' weekend with my mum, who is flying up from Victoria.
Funnily enough, this weekend is forecast to feature blizzard conditions and damaging winds in Victoria, while Brisbane is set to be a beautiful 24 degrees.
Next week will be the eighth and final week of my Getting Fit with Chocolate challenge, and to make the most the final few days I have decided to make my girls' trip in the city as active as possible.
To kick-start my weekend I have booked in for an hour-long session at the renowned F45.
Before moving to Queensland two and a half years ago I was part of the sweaty, high-intensity cult called F45.
Every day, twice a day, I would strap on my active wear and walk down to my local training studio in Preston and sweat it out, high-fiving and fighting my way through the gruelling 45-minute workout.
Then I moved to outback Charleville to find there was only a gym in a shed and I was 10 hours from the nearest F45. It was a battle to stay in the flow of my workout routine.
However, this year, since being only 2.5 hours from the city, I try and incorporate a range of different exercises into my weekend.
Aside from committing to the morning slog of F45 on Saturday, Mum and I have also decided our shopping extravaganza on Saturday arvo will be a workout in itself.
You never realise how many steps you can take in the space of five hours when walking in and out of shops, pulling clothes on and off and lugging bags of new goodies around.
Exercising without realising is also a massive win and definitely makes up for all the yummy food I am sure to devour over the next few days.
We also have an indoor pool and sauna at our hotel (massive win) that Mum and I will definitely use after a day of hitting the shops.
With such nice weather forecast for the weekend, Mum and I also plan to stroll along the river, before enjoying a wine or two - everything in moderation!
