Halfway creek markets
What: Take a break during your Sunday drive and enjoy delicious good, stalls and car booters with local produce, raffles, home made jams and chutneys, plants, jewellery, arts and crafts and bric-a-brac. The local Rural Fire Brigade will also be there with free fire information. New stall holders are welcome, call 6649 4432.
Where: Halfway creek on the corner of the Pacific highway and Kungala Road, opposite the rose nursery.
When: Sunday, September 3 from 8.30am to 12.30pm.
From our place, exhibition
What: From our place: an exhibition from NSW Aboriginal Cultural centres is a NSW state tour being run through nine Aboriginal owned cultural facilities who have drawn from their collections. "Unlike other states, there is no real uniformity or genre of Aboriginal community owned cultural facilities in NSW,” Gumbaynggir artist Alison Williams said.
Where: Yarrawarra Aboriginal Cultural Centre.
When: Opening Thursday, September 7 at 5.30pm through to Saturday, November 4.
Cake demonstration day
What: The Coffs Coast District Cake and Sugar Artists of NSW are inviting community members to their Annual Demonstration Day. Attendees will be able to witness the delicate crafting and decorating of cakes with baking experts Christine Kerr and Tina Thornhill. Lunch, morning and afternoon teas and prizes will be available.
