Get a leg up for film festival

ASPIRING film makers wanting to enter the 2010 Janison Short Sharp Film Festival have the opportunity to get one step ahead of their rivals with a free editing workshop being hosted by the event.

With little more than two months until the entry deadline for the competition, the workshop presents the opportunity to learn techniques using Final Cut Express 4 with guidance from an industry expert.

With more than 25 years experience in the production and editing industry, including working at the ABC, Cross the Line Video Productions’ Brian Semple will impart his expert editing techniques to budding directors and producers who register for the workshop.

The free editing workshop will be held on Saturday, March 6 from 1pm to 4pm at the ETC Training Rooms in Coffs Harbour.

To register for this workshop please email info@shortsharpfilmfest.com or phone 6648 5483.

Organisers have already received interstate entries to the 2010 festival and expect a lot of new entrants to the expanded festival competition.

Entries must include the 2010 signature item – a balloon, either verbally or visually. The signature item can be placed anywhere in the film including the opening titles and credits.

Entries will be accepted anytime from now until May 3.
