Gentle giants on show

COFFS Harbour Show has added a heavy horse section to the program this year and Clydesdale breeders Tony and Cath McGrath will be bringing one of their majestic working horses to the grand parade to introduce the new section to the Coffs Harbour Show.

Fans of the big beasts say these horses are unique and special, with gentle temperaments and a persona not easily matched within the horse world.

The 2010 Coffs Harbour Show will be held on May 7, 8 and 9 and the Grand Parade will begin at 2pm on Saturday May 8.

The grand parade will include the sashing of Showgirl 2010 and the Supreme Exhibits of the Show.

The new heavy horse section will kick off on Sunday, May 9 from 10am.

The Coffs Harbour Show Society secretary John Sjolander can be contacted on 0428 523 559 or coffs show@aim.com.

Entry forms and schedules are available from John at the show office on the Coffs Harbour Showground or may be downloaded from the website www.coffsharbourshowsociety.com.au

Girls aged 18-24 are invited to enter the Coffs Harbour Showgirl competition.

As well as winning local prizes, the Coffs Harbour Showgirl will go on to the Zone competition and will be in the running to become The Land Sydney Royal Easter Showgirl 2011 and win an overseas trip.

Younger girls are eligible for the Junior Showgirl competition.
