Genia back from honeymoon to help Reds tame the Chiefs

THE honeymoon is over for Queensland's champion little half-back Will Genia.

Genia took advantage of the Reds having the by last week to get married - now he's focused on making sure he and his teammates have something else to celebrate come Saturday night, a win over the defending Super Rugby champion, the Chiefs.

The fourth-placed Queenslanders head across the ditch to Hamilton today for Saturday's showdown against the competition leader, and Genia is well aware of the threat the Kiwis pose.

He thinks they are a better team this year, even without former All Black Sonny Bill Williams, who is now playing in the NRL with the Roosters, in their line-up.

"They're an exceptional side," Genia said.

"Our best chance is to keep the ball for long periods and starve them of possession, but they are the kind of side when they do have the ball they like to throw it around so you can force mistakes."

Wingers Digby Ioane (knee) and fellow Wallaby Luke Morahan (rib) will miss the game, while Saia Faingaa may return from a neck injury and Liam Gill (thumb) should start.
